My Personal Life
Why do we spend less on Father’s Day than Mother’s Day? Well, here I explain my thought’s. I love my mum and dad equally and for the last 20 years have ensured that both are celebrated equally on these annual appreciation days.
But I realise I am in the minority and I want others to know that dads matter too!
As a caesarean birth mum twice over, I have been meaning to write this up for a long, long time. The after effects of my first caesarean birth are still with me now (albeit they are slowly fading with every passing year) and I want to write everything down before I forget anything.
My experiences were unique, as is every birth regardless of how, when or which delivery was given and I believe that writing your thoughts, emotions, frustrations and facts allows you to empty that space from your head and keep them locked into your computer so that you can visit, if ever needed.
Here’s my story…
I had so many ideas of the type of parenting styles I wanted use when becoming a mum for the first time. I had aspirations of being that mum who would have patience, instantaneous ideas for fun games and activities and have time for one-to-one speech development, toilet training etc. There was also a list of things I swore I wouldn’t do too. I was going to be a firm, but fair mother. Oh how naïve I was.
